Description
More than coffee — a road to the future
Only masterpieces make it into our Zenith category, and Ethiopia Coba is exactly that. It comes from a washing station run by the visionary Habtamu Fikadu Aga. The name Coba refers to the leaf of the enset plant, a symbol of shelter and care, which describes Habtamu’s philosophy perfectly.
This coffee grows at extreme altitudes of up to 2300 metres, where the 74110 and 74112 varieties develop remarkable bean density. What truly sets it apart, though, is the human side: Habtamu pays farmers above the market price and invests the profit in building schools, roads and drinking water supplies in the isolated villages of the Uraga district.
